The Concept OF HOKKAIdo soup curry
Singapore's Best Japanese Curry
We bring the warmth and soul of Hokkaido to Singapore with our authentic soup curry – a beloved Japanese comfort food that’s never been available here before.
Unlike typical Japanese curry, which is thick and sweet, this dish features a light curry flavored soup base made with chicken broth, chicken bones, curry powder, garam masala, and tomato paste. It is served as a soup dish accompanied by steamed white rice on the side, showcasing a unique twist on traditional Japanese curry.
Why Our Soup Curry
Authentic Hokkaido Flavor - Japanese Recipes

Origins of the Iconic Food
Sapporo Soup Curry from Japan's North
Sapporo soup curry, a beloved local dish from Japan’s northern capital, Hokkaido, originated in the early 1970s and has since become an iconic soul food and original soup curry setting it apart from regular Japanese curry.

Fresh Vegetables with Steamed Rice
A vibrant mix of deep-fried vegetables—bell peppers, lotus root, okra, eggplant, carrots, and potato—kept colourful and crisp using the Japanese su-age technique, flash-frying without batter to preserve vibrant colors and original flavors. Tender chicken thighs and legs complement the fresh veggies in a rich, aromatic curry soup infused with bold spices and creamy coconut milk.

Sapporo: The Capital City of Japanese Soup Curry
Experience authentic Sapporo flavours in Singapore with our soul-warming soup curry, served in a cozy izakaya-style setting like those in Chuo Ward near Susukino Station, known for long lines at soup curry restaurants such as Soup Curry Garaku. Our menu includes a variety of meat and vegetable options, including root vegetables, all cooked to perfection in a vegetable soup curry using traditional Japanese recipes.
The curry soup is prepared in a heavy bottomed pot, with onions, garlic, and ginger caramelized to develop rich flavor. Ingredients like chicken and vegetables are placed on a wire rack lined with paper towels to maintain texture before serving.
